PROFILE/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Matrimonial: Sally has built a comprehensive practice in all manner of contested financial and child-related matters, including but not limited to (1) ancillary relief and preliminary issues, (2) financial dispute resolution, (3) maintenance pending suit and litigation funding, (4) joinders and third-party interests, (5) custody, care and control and access, (6) relocation, (7) the Guardianship of Minors Ordinance, (8) children dispute resolution, (9) parental declarations, (10) the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Ordinance, (11) urgent ex-parte and inter-partes applications (including but not limited to section 17 of the Matrimonial Proceedings and Property Ordinance, the Domestic and Cohabitation Relationships Violence Ordinance and anti-suit injunctions), (12) jurisdictional and forum non convenience challenges, (13) variation of orders, (14) specific discovery, and (15) enforcement (including but not limited to judgment summons, garnishee orders, charging orders and attachment of income orders).

 

Employees’ Compensation, Personal Injuries, Medical Negligence and Insurance Cases: Sally acts for both plaintiffs and defendants. She has broad experience in fatal and non-fatal cases (including those involving injuries of the maximum severity) in employees’ compensation and personal injuries claims, medical negligence claims against the Hospital Authority and insurance cases. She has developed extensive experience in appeals, trials and court hearings (including but not limited to checklist review hearings, specific discovery, Order 80 summons and striking out insurance claims), rendering written advice, and drafting documents (including but not limited to pleadings and witness statements).

 

General Civil Practice: Sally has extensive experience in various civil matters, including but not limited to adverse possession, bankruptcy, building management, commercial, company, compulsory sale, contract, employment, judicial review, probate, tort, trust and winding up. She has broad experience regarding all manner of contested civil matters and has appeared in the Court of Appeal, Court of First Instance, District Court, and Lands Tribunal, including but not limited to (1) 3-minute hearings, (2) call-over hearings, (3) substantive hearings (including but not limited to application for consolidation, default judgment, discharge and variation of injunction, expert opinion, relief from sanction, security for costs, setting aside default judgment, striking out, summary judgment, interim payment and variation of costs order), (4) trials, and (5) appeals.

 

Criminal: Sally has maintained a criminal practice, and has handled cases in the High Court, District Court and Magistrates’ Courts.
