Kevin Hon is a litigation lawyer practicing as a barrister-at-law (trial advocate) focusing on commercial and company matters.
Admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 1990, his earlier practice is mixed and with extensive court work on a daily basis.
Between 1997 and 2002, he worked in the top management as the General Counsel for a life insurance company which engaged in a number of regional joint ventures and mergers and acquisition projects. After the company’s IPO in 1999, he also took up the role of Deputy Compliance Officer. His duties included reviewing transactional documents, advising on corporate matters, transactional structuring, strategic considerations, compliance issues and implementing the management decisions.
After going back to private practice in 2002, his practice mainly focuses on advising on company matters as well as commercial and corporate litigation / arbitration involving cross-border disputes and injunctions.
His strengths, in addition to the extensive knowledge and experience in litigation, lie in the understanding of the commercial objectives often not expressed in the legal language and the formulation of commercial solutions to cater for the particular scenarios.
